Accessibility at GregCook.net

My commitment

I want everyone to be able to use this site. My goal is conformance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. I'm continuously improving structure, color contrast, keyboard support, and alternative text.

What I do

  • Use semantic HTML with headings, lists, labels, and landmarks (header, nav, main, footer).
  • Maintain color contrast that meets or exceeds WCAG AA.
  • Ensure keyboard operability and visible focus states.
  • Provide text alternatives for informative images; decorative images are marked appropriately.
  • Use descriptive link text and accessible names for controls.
  • Respect reduced-motion preferences where animations exist.
  • Support zoom/reflow up to 200% without loss of content.

Compatibility

The site should work with current versions of major browsers and assistive technologies. Older browsers may not fully support newer HTML/CSS features.

Known limitations

Despite my best efforts, some legacy pages or embedded media may not fully meet AA. If you encounter a problem, please let us know so I can fix it.

  • Older posts may have missing image alt text.
  • Third-party embeds may not expose full accessibility controls.

Feedback & accessible alternatives

If you need content in an alternative format (e.g., plain text, larger print, captions) or find a barrier, contact:

Email: Contact Page

I aim to respond within 5 business days.

Assessment approach

I rely on manual checks and automated testing (HTML validators, color contrast checks, keyboard-only navigation) during updates and when publishing new content.
